Our 'Color Me Confident' Event Recap

Every. Single. Time. Our room full of incredible women of all ages, stages, and positions NEVER disappoints!

Our September 2024 event, truly happened in October all because Hurricane Helene tried to steal our thunder (no pun intended). So, we inevitably had to postpone this event by a week. We managed to slip it in between hurricane scares BUT even with all the changes, these ladies showed up with joy and enthusiasm!

Our beautiful, inside and out, Featured Speaker, Debie Grass, blew our minds with what we thought we knew about color... and most of us, were so wrong! She is an Image Consultant who specializes in color analysis and the proud owner of Image Matters. Her studio located in Fort Myers near Barbara B. Mann.

Debie reminded our ladies that before we ever have to go to drastic measures of needles, diets, and scalpels, we can elevate our appearance by just knowing what to wear and how to wear it. Mainly, the colors that will compliment you and the ones that don't. That's in regards to clothes, makeup, and hair color. It's all one unique canvas!

She spoke on familiar struggles like having a closet full of clothes that we never seem to wear or holding onto because maybe one day... While one day may come, our bodies change shape, hair changes color, and trendy styles disappear or evolve. Therefore, what used to work for us once might not be the case now.

She gave us LIVE examples and tips. Huge kudos to our beautiful audience volunteers who were so gracious and brave! 👏👏👏

We were honored to have her be on our LLN stage and hope to see her in our room for many more events as she made new connections and new friends!

Per our commitment to our community, LLN-SWFL, donates a portion of our ticket sales to a non-profit/charity. Our Featured Non-Profit this month was Dress for Success SWFL.

We are proud to be able to support their mission "to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help them thrive in work and in life."

Their Professional Women's Group helps teach women financial literacy, meal prepping, resume writing, and interview skills.

Colleen Jorgensen (pictured), who serves on their board, gave us great tips and reminders of how we can help support them with volunteering time, our own work skills, and donating professional clothes you no longer need or want.

Follow them on Instagram or their website to keep up with their needs, donation drop-offs, and benefit events.

Thank you Dress for Success, for the part you play in helping and growing the women in our community!

Our vendors went above and beyond! They showed up early, set up their tables, helped me stuff swag bags and even offered to help make sure everything else was good to go for the overall event.

Help support their businesses and the women behind them by following them below on social media and/or shopping with them in the future:

Ashley, owner and operator, also has an online store on her website and you can purchase directly from there.

I'm grateful to these ladies who saw the mission off LLN and the community we are building and continue to support us as we grow.

For our FIRST 25 guests we had premiere Swag Bags! They included discounts, coupons, custom luggage tags, samples, some of the best smelling soap, and seasonal sweet treats, all in a reusable glam bag!

A Huge shout out and thank you to the following women-owned businesses who doted on our lovely ladies both in Swag and some in giveaways as well:

Julie Oakley: Mary Kay Consultant

Congratulations to one of our giveaway winners! She won a mini photoshoot in the studio of our event Photographer, Jennifer Clark! Perfect for this couple!

Huge shoutout to Hopsized Brewing Company for being so accommodating with changes and being hands on at the actual event. The space was open and light, live music played around Debie's speaking time helping fill the space and create a low-key comfortable atmosphere and they had Super Smash Burger, a local food truck on site to provide food and they graciously brought food into out guests when they could.

Photography Credit goes to Ainslie Images: Jennifer Clark, owner and photographer, blended right in and connected with all of our ladies seamlessly.

She effortlessly exercised her many years of experience and I highly recommend her for your family photo needs. She does a wide range of photography with a focus on children and family. I got the chance to hear some of her tricks to get the best pictures from your kiddos and it just shows her level of commitment.

REMINDER: It takes very little to show support for these businesses by a simple follow, tag, share, or referring someone by word of mouth. We have a desire to see these ladies to succeed in all that they do.

Would you do me a HUGE favor and just do at least one of the things mentioned? I know they would greatly appreciate it! You are amazing! Thank you!

Every event, so far, holds its own successes and connections that I am sos thankful for. I hope that you consider being part of our next one, if you have never joined us. You never know who you will meet!

~Never discount what opportunities can present themselves just by being in the room.~

I'll be looking for you at our next event!!
