Virginia Repertory Theatre
Virginia Rep’s fun-filled camps are full of creative exploration and imaginative play. Our unique theatre camps provide exciting performance opportunities for students K - 12. These camps are designed with the novice and seasoned performer in mind. With instruction by some of Virginia’s finest theatre artists and educators, your dramatic student will have a theatrical experience like no other!
One-Day Camps, for current Kindergarten - 5th Graders. Each day includes drama, music, dance and a production craft taught by Virginia Rep's theatre professionals and educators.

For 5 & 6 year olds, $225 per camper
The ideal first theatre camp for your preschool aged child. Through creative drama the campers learn how to use their Performers Tools: bodies, voices, and imaginations to tell stories. Each morning includes story drama, music & movement and a craft. The campers will have the opportunity to share what they
learned throughout the week with family and friends on the last day at 11:30.
Stage Explorers - 2 week camp
June 3 - 14, 2024 + July 8 - 19, 2024
For rising 1st - 6th graders.
Each day includes drama, music, dance and a production craft taught by Virginia Rep's theatre professionals and educators. The experience will encourage and support both the novice and the seasoned performer.

Young Performers Institute - 2 week camp
July 22 - August 2, 2024
For rising 7th-12th graders , $675 per camper
Each day, participants will rotate through performance courses, allowing students to connect with one another and their instructors to build a strong and dynamic ensemble. Courses include: Acting, Singing, Dancing, Improv, Film-making and Storytelling on Stage. These courses are provided by working professionals in the theatre industry. Participants are encouraged to participate in a mock audition in front of Virginia Rep casting directors to receive helpful feedback. The Young Performers Institute Camp is packed with rigor, but is fun for young performers.The price of tuition includes a ticket for a performance of Virginia Rep’s mainstage summer musical!
Summer Showtime: Broadway Jr. Musical - 2 week camp
August 5 - 16, 2024
For rising 5th - 12th graders, $675 per camper
This audition based camp is structured to support cast members as they rehearse the songs, choreography and scene work for a fully staged Broadway Jr musical in preparation for public performances.

Richmond Debate Institute
Summer camp is back at Richmond Debate Institute – a residential summer program based at VCU for students ages 13+.
Experience 8 days and 7 nights of the true collegiate experience – learn from top instructors, meet professionals in law and politics who use these skills in their careers, and hang out with friends on the VCU campus. If your child is looking for academic enrichment and their first foray into college-style learning, this is the summer camp for you!
Richmond Debate Institute is a nationally recognized speech and debate summer camp program for middle and high school students. Our community of seasoned coaches, PhD lecturers, and resident assistants make our camp a lively and engaging summer experience. We are dedicated to making our camps an inclusive community, where students can make lifelong friends and express their curiosity.

Cultural Arts Center, Glen Allen
At the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, each camp is small and specialized with a maximum of 24 campers per session. Young campers will find "birds of a feather" in the Arts and have immeasurable opportunities to focus on their craft. In fact, many of the same campers and families return each year, building the next generation of artists.
Art Safari is for the 7-10 age group that loves both animals and art! There will be large fossil reproductions and animal taxidermy for the students to draw, paint and watercolor. At the end of the week, families are invited to an Art Exhibit with their campers' artwork. At the ARTventurous Camp for ages 11-15, campers will collaborate together on a Year of the Dragon mural! In addition, they will create mandala rock paintings, some fun DIY fashion, and experience plein air painting with a professional artist.
Get ready for some Dramarama! These 7 to 10-year-old campers will learn and play through daily improv games and be cast in a performance for family and friends. For ages 11-15, Triple Threat Theatre offers the experience of classes in voice, dance and acting with people in the profession. In addition, all campers will be cast in a Theatre Showcase that will makes its debut on stage at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.
